Senator Craig Johnson visited us on Saturday, Oct 4, and spent time running Rathi's class!! The students got the chance to question and discuss the current economy and the elections. It was an extraordinary opportunity to understand politics and economics, up close and personal. The Senator made an immediate connection with the youth, reminiscing about his own ambitions to be a teacher. The class had been studying the 'Qualities of a Wise Person' from Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gita. The Senator quizzed the students on that and was very pleased with the mature answers. We hope we can periodically arrange for visits from local leaders, especially in these turbulent times. |
